Make it Monday-Rain Crafts

Today was Make it Monday! We made some rain crafts that were quick, easy, and required little supplies. I chose to do this during nap-time for the 2-year-old as he hasn't liked doing any crafts that don't require making a mess (haha, can anyone relate?!) And I wanted something quick--it was definitely a case of the Mondays here! We did two crafts. One was an umbrella and the other was a cloud and rainbow. Craft #1. Umbrella with raindrops! Supplies : Craft/Popsicle stick Construction paper or cardstock String (I used thread)  Glue Embellishments or markers to decorate the umbrella Scissors Steps: I free handed the umbrella and rain drops onto some construction paper (you could absolutely print a template online and trace them onto the paper) I let my 5-year-old cut the umbrella out to practice his cutting skills (fine motor skills.) Power Outage Survival

We live in New York State. Where in a course of four days we can experience Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. We do it frequently where I live. It's April 17th and it's snowing outside. It's snowed on Mother's Day (in MAY) here. And snow can and will start in or before October. Truthfully, I wholeheartedly believe that I am not meant to live in this state. I belong somewhere down south but that's a different post for a different day.  Anyhow we have been experiencing some crazy weather here and that caused the power to go out for a total of 12 hours yesterday (between two outages.) I have a Wild Child 2-year-old and an Adventurer of a 5-year-old I knew it would be interesting.  Here are a few tips I have for getting through outages whether they are long or short. First here is a list of essentials that I highly suggest having.  1. Flashlights and/or candles.           We have these, but we can always use more. Our apartment...
