Good Dinosaur Movie Night!

Whew, it's been a while! But here I am!

Once a month we do a big family movie night where I go all out and have yummy (junk) food, decorations and we do activities pertaining to the movie, etc. D-Man always seems to love it. And since we had our second child 2 months ago, it's a good tradition to have and keep!

This weekend we did The Good Dinosaur. It's a Disney Pixar film in which a dinosaur (Arlo)  is separated from his family and tries to find his way back home. On his journey he makes an unlikely friend (Spot) and the two battle the elements to get  Arlo back home. This movie made us laugh and it even made myself and D cry. It was so cute, but D has never cried during a movie before so I felt awful! But we sure did have fun!

The week leading up to movie night I made it Dino week in our house! D was given tons of Dinosaurs as hand me down toys a while back, but was terrified of them! So we kept the safe someplace he wouldn't see them and brought them out last week aaaaand, ta-da! He LOVED them!

We played with dinosaurs, did cute dino handprint crafts (that unfortunately D ripped up before I could get a picture) painted a paper mache dinosaur, colored pages and read dinosaur books! I wanted to do a dinosaur dig where you take a dinosaur and put it in a container. Add in corn starch and water and let it dry in the sun for a day or two until it's hard, and then you let the kid or kids dig out the dino! I might still do it :)

Links for those crafts!

My movie tickets came from: http://alittlesliceofus.com/2016/02/27/the-good-dinosaur-family-movie-night/

Movie nights can be put together in little time, with little effort thanks to pinterest! :) Check out our night! (Sorry for the terrible pictures, my phone is in fact a dinosaur and the lighting wasn't the greatest in here!)

Our movie board! :) Terrible lighting for this picture though!

We got this paper mache dinosaur at Target! He has been really into painting and crafts lately so this was an awesome find!!

The Menu! It says:
Dinosaurs (Dino nuggets)
Tree branches (hot dogs)
Rocks (tater tots)
Arlo's favorite berries (strawberries)
Prehistoric fish (Goldfish crackers)
Fossil cookies (sugar cookies)
Good Dinosaur cupcakes!

Movie time!!

We had a great time! All the decorations and plates cost less than $1 each, and most of the food I have on hand anyway! So it cost us very little money! We're still discussing what movie to do next month, so does anyone have any suggestions?!
