Summer Camp (At Home!)
Hey, ya'll! Welcome (or welcome back!) Today I'm going to post a list I've been working on for some time, knowing that when Summer vacation came around I needed to make sure I was prepared! We are a one car family, so outings tend to only happen when my husband is home (and mostly on weekends.) There will be days where I am able to leave with my two boys, but honestly, it can be a pain (two bulky car seats in and out of cars and all that jazz)
I have a ton going on this summer. Parties, weddings, normal everyday wife and mothering, I'm on a weight loss journey, attempting to train for a 5k...oh, and I'm publishing a book. Yeah, what was I thinking? And then! Then I decided "Hey, why am I not blogging about all of this hot mess?! It's been a minute since I've uploaded anything!" and since I'm the queen of procrastinating, here I am!
Okay, enough rambling. I could do that all day (you know, to avoid the dishes, laundry, screaming children, the chapters I need to edit....*sigh*) So here is an overview of my summer camp at home!
Week 1: July 1- July 5
- Space Week
Week 2: July 8- July 12
- Dinosaur Week
Week 3: July 15- July 19
- Ocean/Pirate Week
Week 4: July 22 - July 26
- Bug Week
Week 5: July 29 - August 2
- Shark Week
Week 6: August 5 - August 9
- Robot Week
Week 7: August 12 - August 16
- Transportation Week
Week 8: August 19 - August 23
- STEM Week
Week 9: August 26 - August 30
- Animal Week
Each week consists of having:
- Sensory play
- Dramatic play
- Arts and crafts
- Writing and reading activities
- Math activities,
- Movies and themed snacks!
These activities are made to be fun, but make sure that the kids are still learning and staying engaged and not melting their brains with TV or video games (which, to be fair, my kids will probably do way more than they should this summer!)
I will do a separate post for each week, but the goal is to spend as close to little money as possible! I got all of my space-themed items at Five Below and from the dollar craft area in AC Moore! I may have to buy paper plates (for crafting) in bulk but they will most likely last all summer!
I searched for movies I could find on my firestick, Netflix or Hulu, or that we already owned.

If you search Pinterest you will find a ton of ideas for everything under the sun as far as themes and activities go!
In the next few days, I will post what I have planned for Space Week!
Stay tuned!
