It's been a while!
So I didn't have internet for a little bit, then I did, but it went out for daysss, then we switched providers, then they sent us the wrong modem and long story short, it's been a while for various reasons! :) But I'm glad to be back. I've got a few things I want to update with. First I would like to start with D's playroom!
When we moved in almost 7 months ago, the room was pink. When we tried to paint it red, we realized it was too close on the color wheel and the red did not cover all of the pink (even though we primed the wall and had primer in the paint!) so we had redish walls for a while! I started painting it white with some left over paint I had, but the paint smelt terrible, so I stopped (afterall, it was D's playroom, and that room has a window but the window goes to a storage room and not a real window, so no ventilation) Well, fast forward a few months and the room still looked like that! I wanted to make it into a nice playroom for D. So I sent the hubby out for some paint.
So the red is under there. I don't think I took a before picture other than this one. The paint just didn't work so I decided to go white and start from scratch! So after $10 for a gallon of paint I ended up with a clean slate!
I bought D a clearanced out Spiderman ball pit for $15 (that I waited in line for 20 minutes because they didn't believe that price was correct, when the orignal price was only $22...good thing I'm patient!) Then I came home and ordered him some plastic balls from Amazon and got free 2 day shipping! The balls cost me about $30.
Something was still missing. What was it? A letter foam mat underneath his ball pit!
So- so far the room had cost me a total of about $75-$80 dollars! And all I needed to do was run to the dollar store for some bins to organize D's toys!
I labeled them so everyone knows where things goes and as D gets older he will start to recognize words!
I had made some laminated letters for the wall, so that was free (I had everything I needed!)
Simple and cute!
I also bought some clothes line and clothes pins at the dollar store as well! I used this to hang up D's artwork! (He only just turned 1 a week ago, so some of the colorings aren't his, lol. )
Finger paintings....(these are all D's!)
(also the colors you see aren't from my painting, hehe, theres pink on the ceiling from before)
Like I said D turned 1 a week ago...and minus the walker and the hippo game, all those toys he got for his birthday! So I had to go out and get some more bins. I then decided to make a rotation system for his toys. I took down his ball pit, and put the balls in a tote and stored them in his bedroom closet and viola! Perfect and easy. D loves it, and I love it! So there may be a lot of toys but I keep it clean and so it doesn't feel cluttered!
I completed this room for under $100 and most of that was the extra toys and floor mat! :)
